[Monday Message] Clearing the energy in your space

Have you ever been aware of the spirit or the energy of a given location? Even if that location is your home, your work, your grandmother’s house? When you think about it now, let the awareness of the energy of those spaces wash over you. Every person who walks into a space is affected by the energy of it, positively or negatively. Clearing energy is as important, or even more important, as sweeping the floor.

Are the spaces you are at least partially responsible for full of good energy or bad energy? What sort of energy do you bring into the spaces you enter? The energy you carry when you enter a space will also affect a space, and can make it feel more cheerful or peaceful or uncomfortable. You really are that powerful.

If you are seeking to create peace, serenity, or cheerfulness in your life, you may want to take a look at the energy of the spaces you spend time in. Even if it is a cubicle at work, you can frequently bring in some personal items to shift the energy, such as a small plant or a crystal, or something that soothes you. Some workplaces aren’t receptive to bringing in personal items and leaving them in your workspace, but you can still affect your area with the energy you carry into it. When you first get to work, you can take a few deep breaths, allow yourself to feel grounded and in your body, and feel yourself accepting white light energy and radiating it outward. This will help in clearing out energies that aren’t helpful.

In the home, you can create a peaceful atmosphere, even with teenagers, by making sure the energy flow in the rooms is fluid, by playing soothing music, with a few small objects here and there to soothe the energy, or with pleasant smells – lavender oil is great for clearing the energy. You may find that by creating a calmer environment, the people you share space with may also become calmer. It is especially important to have peaceful energy in the bedroom, so that you sleep well. Reducing clutter will help with this.

Take three steps today to create a more peaceful atmosphere around you. Start small. Pay attention to any changes that may occur as a result.

Disclaimer: this is not actually an expanded blog post of the Daily Message. It was long enough.

Usually, this post would be part of a series called Monday Message, based on that day’s reflection from 365 Days to Enlightenment (authorized versions are currently out of print, working on a new edition). Check back next Monday for another one! You can also sign up for the Daily Message on my mailing list if you’d like to receive a new reflection every day. I also often post them to Instagram, if that’s a medium you enjoy.
