New Moon in Leo (and other assorted energies)

The energy right now is all about being authentic and owning who you are in all of your awesomeness.

  • Figure out what you are interested in, rather than what you think you should be interested in.
  • Have fun, because you can’t be inauthentic when you’re having fun.
  • Discover your superpower.
  • Carry around a little notebook to write down those flashes of insight so you don’t lose them.
  • As yourself if you would rather be happy or rather be right.
  • Look for unexpected events (ha!) accompanied by weird little glimpses into your own future.
  • Let yourself shine. Don’t hide or shrink. This is so not the time to be shy or embarrassed. Own your glory.

In ritual tonight, we cleared three times:

  1. With salt, to slough off all of the seriousness and grown up blather that gets in the way of us being our authentic selves, and to silence all of those voices that tell us who we should be rather than who we are.
  2. With water, to wash away old emotions so we could be fully present.
  3. With smudge, clearing the way for us to go more deeply into ourselves, have better clarity, and to connect with our heart’s desire.

We connected with the heart of the planet, our own hearts, the hearts of the three central suns, and the heart of the moon. We set our intention, not from ego, but from our hearts. And we were asked to trust the process, to let it go and get out of the way so the Universe could work perfectly, as it always does when we let it.

I closed with words from Ode to Joy by Friedrich von Schiller:

Joy, beautiful spark from God,
Daughter of Elysium,
Drunk with fire we enter,
Oh heavenly one, your holy place.
Your magic binds together
What was strictly divided.
All people are made brothers,
Wherever your gentle wing rests.

How did you mark the New Moon?
