This just in from SpaceWeather:
This morning (Sept. 9th at 00:30 UT) the magnetic canopy of sunspot AR2158 erupted, producing a long-duration solar flare and a bright CME. The CME, which billowed away from the sun at nearly 1,000 km/s, has an Earth-directed component. A glancing blow is possible during the late hours of Sept. 11/early hours of Sept. 12. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras when the storm cloud arrives.
This is a significant event, no matter how you look at it. As I have said, September is the crescendo of whatever you have been working for the year, and the most intense days of September (or any month, really) are the 9th, the 18th, and the 27th. This solar flare started on the 9th, so it’s going to bring you the opportunity to transform or transmute (via the element of fire) whatever you have been working on this year. As solar flares have a strong effect on the electro-magnetic field, you are likely to feel jangly, raw, agitated – which means your shields are down. This will actually help you work on your annual theme(s) and challenges, but you might want to avoid highly charged social situations late on the 11th into the 12th. The energy will be building u until that point, and you’re actually getting 2-3 days of being able to work on things for which you would usually only have the 9th (today).
As always, drink lot of water, eat as close to raw as possible (or even consider a fast, which I rarely recommend, but this is also happening under the auspices of a Full Moon, so you’re way more apt to take on toxins), do grounding exercises, connect with the solar energy so you remain in alignment with that vibration (sun salutations work really well), and take as much time as you can to journal and meditate on the themes that have ribboned through 2014. Awareness is extremely helpful for this. The more you work consciously on these things now, the easier the 18th and 27th will be, when you do some wrap up, which will allow you to start to move toward the thinning of the veil at the end of October with ease.
Is this a bad time to mention that Mercury goes retrograde in October?
